Communication Systems
The Lifeskills Program provides alternative forms of communication
for our non-verbal students to make their needs known. An assessment and
consultation is completed by the District Speech Pathologist, who recommends a
specific communication program.
The staff of the program is trained in the following:
· Use of visual scripts and schedules;
· Augmentative communication devices;
· Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS);
· Picture boards.
